Bobcat and Skid Steer Hydraulic Quick Couplers

Understanding the hydraulic quick coupler system on your Bobcat or skid steer machinery is critical for effective and efficient operation. Most quick coupler systems are similar among various skid steer machines, including the Bobcat, and are located in a vertical line on the outside of the equipment. The coupler on the very bottom is the pressurized coupler on the Bobcat and is most often a female, flat face coupler.  This pressurized coupler powers your attachments through a trigger switch in the cab.  

The third coupler up is the male coupler which returns the hydraulic fluid back into your equipment, through the system to come back to the female pressure coupler again.  The quick connect coupling in between these two is the case drain which is normally a flat face, male, 3/8” coupler,  and plays an important role by taking excess pressure through the return line and back into the reservoir. The case drain coupling protects the motor and seals from bursting due to excess pressure.
